Remember that time I said i would start blogging again?

Almost two years later - I have!

Like I said before and even more true now: Things have CHANGED!  In the past 4 years since I was introduced to the blogging world and eventually joined it with my first blog, Jigging in J.Crew, I feel like I have become a completely different person.  My uber-prep look has evovled to a more Prepsterie (preppy+hipster+hippie?)style and my attitude toward life has taken a 180.

My new motto is "Why Not?" and my general disposition is enthusiastic, if not a little (some might say too candid).  I've become more open, more adventurous, more sarcastic and more complex - all of which have shaped me into a woman who wants completely different things now than she did 4 years ago.  Were my aspirations wrong then? Absolutely not!  Are the right, now?  Who knows?  We can find out though!

In celebration of my new life and voice, I've decided to try to start writing again.  However, in the siprit of change, I thought a fresh start and a new blog might be more fitting.  Please come take a look!

Fair warning: it might be a little snarky or sarcastic or (hopefully not) boring.  BUT these are my thoughts and they're presented for pure entertainment and as a mental floss-type tool for me.

The Blog is called "Not To Be Whatever, But..."  it's a saying i use often and it usually comes followed by one of two things: a strong (and perhaps not widely regarded) opinion about something, or an admission about yourself (usually good, but not always).  I'm not sure where the blog will take me, and I hope I can keep the entertainment value up... that said - if you still like me - follow me!*  I'd love to have you back!  Comments, PLEASE!

*I forgot how to get followers?  Is that strange?  I looked at my old blog and somehow has managed to get over 100 followers at one point.  How did that happen?  Advice welcome :)

Happy Reading, All!

New Beginnings...

As is typical with most bloggers, and most people in general, the New Year is a time of reflection - we look back, we look forward, we resolve to change, set goals, make decisions and plan action. My first step with this process has been my recent decision to begin blogging again. With this decision also comes many changes to the blog itself - expect a different layout, color scheme, new topics, a new title, etc. I've decided to take it slow getting back into the blogging habit. I figured that instead of going gung-ho and then eventually getting too busy to keep up with so much and then eventually stopping all together (similar to my last experience) I'm going to try the opposite approach.... A few changes here or there, followed by shorter (but hopefully still fun!) blogs every once in a while, to hopefully getting all caught up and making it into a habit I do actively. One thing I'm going to look into is an app to make it easier to post remotely (anyone with google blogger and an Andriod phone know how to do this??). Also, I want to update everyone on the past year or so of missing blogs, but I dont know what to leave in vs. what to leave out - I wish there was one of those "quiz" type fill in the blanks, I could just fill one out!

I'm going to piece something together, in the meantime, thanks for reading the boring posts, and I promise if you keep reading they will get better!

Happy New Year!

Back Again??

Hi All!!!

On the eave of the New Year and after over a year of being absent in the blogging world, I have begun to think that I would like to begin fresh in the new year and that starting a new blog would be just the way to do it.... to the 59 bloggers who have continued to follow me (or perhaps have not noticed I'm gone...) Should I start again?? To be honest, after a while I found that it was really hard to keep up with blogging, but with all the new technology in the past months (isn't it crazy how far we come so fast?) I can blog from my phone, on the road, etc, etc... I think it might be easier, no?

To be honest, I'm not sure what the focus would be, other than my day to day life, coupled probably with the usual favorite things/social commentary/etc, etc... but what I do know is that my life has DRAMATICALLY changed in the past year and a half and this would be a whole new blog - title and all (assuming, of course, I think of a fun new name..)

Lastly, I wonder, should I start completely fresh and ignore the 1.5 year hiatus or should I post a quick update on where I've been and what I've been up to? I haven't decided yet just how personal I want to get (I enjoy reading those who fiercely protect their privacy just as much as those who divulge the details) but can I re-emerge into the blogosphere without batting a lash? Does anyone care? (LOL). Decisions, Decision... I'll be mulling all of this over as I spend my NYE working all night long!

Have a wonderful New Year, all!!!

Dear Lord Help Me...

Can we please do something about this whole allergy thing?!?!?! I take multiple medications. I get not one, not two, not three, but SIX shots EVERY WEEK in order to help alleviate my allergies and somehow, I still constantly look like this:

My eyes are swollen and watery, my nose won't stop running and my inhaler is getting far too much use. Seriously. This cartoon is beginning to appeal to me more and more:
I just earned my degree in Environmental Science....

Calling all Pizza Lovers...

The restaurant I waitress at (furthermore known as LDP) has THE BEST made to order pizzas - EVER and the best part is - I get one for FREE every time I work - weeeeee! (now you understand the urgency with which I got a gym membership after moving to the Cape). I have been wowing my co-workers with new pizza ideas every time I go in there but - alas! My creativity is beginning to wane and I need more ideas... and sooooo I thought I would seek my bloggy friends for advice!

Most of you are foodies.... or well, you blog about food (sometimes?!), or well... you eat food, so let me tell you about my wonderful creations thus far and hopefully you can leave me some new and exciting and YUMMY ideas. If I try any of them I will make my best effort to take pictures and post/give you credit/review your pizza (as I am quickly becoming somewhat of a connoisseur).... The kitchen has red pizza (tomato), white pizza, and pesto pizza as a base... but I'm sure whatever you can come up with will work!

Here are a few of the pizzas I have dreamed up (or soon to be made pizzas) so far:

  • Buffalo Chicken Pizza: picture a white and or plain pizza with boneless buffalo chicken (LDP has quite possibly some of the best buff chix around!) and perhaps (haven't fully commited to this idea yet) blue cheese sprinkled on top. When served, comes with a side of blue cheese dressing to dip.

  • Chicken Fajita Pizza: This would be probably be a plain pizza (think brushed with olive oil as opposed to sauce) with fajita seasoned peppers, onions and chicken. Covered in cheese and served with a side of Guacamole - yummmmmmmm

  • Baked Potato Pizza: This would probably be plain as well (perhaps red sauce??) and would have thin slices of potato as the first layer, covered with lots of cheese (mozz AND cheddar) and crumbled bacon. OMG I'm already drooling...

  • Philly CheeseSteak Pizza: I can't decide if red sauce would be good with this or not but think all of the ingredients in a philly cheesesteak sans bun and scattered across the top of a pizza.

  • Chicken Parm Pizza: OK so I won't take credit for this one, since it was recently one of our 'Pizza of the Days' but let me tell you - IT WAS GOOD - they even put the spaghetti on it! YUMMMMMM

And now for your suggestions?? I would love to hear about any new pizza ideas (or even your favorite pizzas from the corner shop) and I will let you know and give full credit to any of the fabulous suggestions I expect to get!

It's been FOREVER!

Ok, so really it's only been about two weeks but it feels like forever! Since moving to the Cape for the summer I have recently found out that for the majority of my time I will be without internet! I was NOT prepared for this! How am I to entertain myself all summer? How am I to shop? How am I to BLOG??!?!?

Alright, with the melodramatics over, I have come up with what I hope will be a solution - I will keep my computer with me (sans my internet) and write posts in word, upon which I will copy and paste into my "New Posts" whenever the internet is available... sound like a lot of work? I think it might be, but I really love the "blogosphere" and I've enjoyed having an outlet to write in these past few months. My only problem is how much time it takes! Reading all your blogs, I've learned you're all in law school, working full time jobs, in undergrad... where do you find the time to blog/read a bunch of blogs?? I really want to commit to this and I want MORE READERS! How do you girls do it? How do you find time to write? How do you get more readers? Any advice??

I will be back later (hopefully my new plan will work!!!) Thanks to everyone for not abandoning me during my absense :o)
